NEXT WEEK AT MONDAY NIGHT LIVE! @ CAFE GRATITUDE:

Monday November 9th, 2009 : 7:00pm-8:00pm
Topic: “May I Be Frank?” the Movie & “Making Of” Discussion
5 Minute Interview with Ryland Engelhart.

May I Be Frank – the Movie

All Frank Ferrante wants is to fall in love one last time before he dies.

In the beginning Frank is a 290-pound, 54 year old Sicilian from Brooklyn, NY. who has an unquenchable thirst for women, a tendancy to create awkward moments, and a knack for failure. He’s got Hepatitis C and is on numerous medications including Interferon and anti-depressants. He drinks 10 espressos a day just to keep himself awake. He is an ex-addict, accused of being a terrible father, a nasty ex-husband, a lousy brother and a lost soul. Frank is never satisfied; he’s always hungry for the next quick fix. At least, that WAS Frank…

Until the day he stumbled into his long-awaited awakening, disguised as Cafe Gratitude, a raw organic and vegan food restaurant in the sunset district of San Francisco. Here, Frank is offered something remarkable: another chance at his life. A conversation between Frank and a cafe waiter named Ryland results in the creation pf an experiment: to help Frank fall in love. The proposal: Frank will rediscover and recreate himself in just 42 days simply though what he eats and thinks.

Have an amazing week,

and I hope to see you Monday night for May I Be Frank!

Tiziana Alipo Tambora
Topic: “Raw Desserts: Emotions & The Body Connection.”
5 Minute Interview with Tiziana Tambora.

As the co-author of Cafe Gratitude’s best selling dessert recipe book, “Sweet Gratitude“, Tiziana brings a wide range of skills and experience to her current practice as a dessert chef. Her passion for desserts is a lifelong journey she started in Italy inspired by her mother and grandmother. In the early nineties she started to study macrobiotic philosophy and began to develop her own recipes for vegan, macrobiotic desserts.

She came to California in 1997 to continue her studies and has since been involved in health and nutrition, baked for several International Macrobiotic Conferences and Cruises, and managed two vegan bakeries. She has worked as a private chef, a pastry chef, taught hands-on dessert classes since 1998 in Italy, Canada, and the US. Her holistic approach to health includes acupressure training and somatic experiencing.

Tiziana’s presentation will be connected with her book, “Sweet Gratitude”, and how each chapter in the book has a connection with some emotional state of being; Trust, being Present, Guilt, Love, Oneness etc. From here she’ll be introducing how our emotional states have an effect on our physical body specifically in regards to her other passion, Somatic Experiencing practice.

Have an amazing week,

and I hope to see you Monday night for the second Tiziana!

HOT DIGGITY BLOG DIGGITY! OR – WHY I’M DOING THIS:

Originally this blog was started to serve two purposes: as a daily journal to both my (and my Partner, Stephen’s) Global Juice Feasting* experience, and for our experiment with a "Living Spiritual Mind Treatment."

The Global Juice Feast kicked off on March 1st, 2008, and it ended on June 5th, 2008. Yes - that makes it 92 days! Stephen and I ended our Juice Feast after 30 days, and I also seem to have let the "Living Spiritual Mind Treatment" experiment fade away as well. Now, I'm just blogging to blog, for blogs-sake, and although I'm not very consistent with it, it's nice to know I can when I want to. (And it beats paying for therapy!)
